Welcome to my personal website. I am interested in ecology, biology and technology. I always had an interest in biology and nature but until my mid twenties I had no interest in computers and related topics. In my twenties I got interested in computers and started various ICT training programs. After successfully passing various certification exams I became a certified ICT professional. Later in life when I was in my 40's I started combining my interest in nature and computers. On my projects page you can view my projects where I combine ecological topics with technological solutions.
I study the functioning of Autonomous Biological systems and the use of their components in Bioregenerative Life Support Systems. The basis of my systems are plants and algae that are used for oxygen production and the removal of waste products. To improve the functioning and sustainability of such systems I develop Data Acquisition Systems and Artificial Intelligence. Not only to study the systems behavior but also as early warning systems to predict future problems or if a catastrophic event might occur. Besides ecology and technology I like running and music.
I'm a big athletics fan. I practiced athletics when I was young, mostly running cross country and 800 meter races. In 2025 I joined a local athletics club and in 2026 I started competing in road races. I like to follow the large events such as the Diamond League and European and world championships. I also like road races such as major marathons, 5k and 10k events. Athletics isn't as popular as it was when I was young. Maybe that's one of the reasons why a lot of the club and track records that my generation set when they were young still stand today. Hopefully the interest in athletics will grow as it gets more attention in the media.
