Started: 2016      Status: Under Development

The Autonomous Biological System is a Bioregenerative Closed Life Support System that was used for space flight experiments and looked interesting to use as an experimental educational and scientific tool. In 2016 I build my first group and started improving their construction, components and sustainability.

Started: 2025      Status: Under Development

A Stand-Alone modular Arduino based Data Acquisition System with web interface for environmental and agricultural purposes. The system consists of various stand-alone modules placed on various locations gathering and logging in-situ data that can be viewed on a local and centralized web interface.

Growing vegetables on waste water purifies the water by removing nutrients from the water. This results in food, cleaner water the reduction of Carbon Dioxide in the water and air and the production of Coupled Oxygen.

Started: 2021      Status: Finished

An Arduino based sensor network connected to R for Statistical Computing for logging and visual monitoring. The system started with one Arduino board with a temperature sensor and a photoresistor connected to a laptop running R for Statistical Computing. The system now has evolved to a multi sensor multi purpose monitoring system for environmental and agricultural purposes.

Started: 2016    Status: Finished

A Climate Chamber made from easy obtainable materials controlled by a PLC. The first generation was build in 2016 and had problems with de design of the cooling system. The 2nd generation was build in 2020 with an improved cooling system by splitting the cooling systems entry points with their own tp100 sensor for temperature control. In 2023 the final 3rd generation that I use in my lab was finished.

Where will future astronauts live during Artemis missions on the Moon or during the years long roundtrip missions to Mars and other destinations in the solar system? How will these habitats be constructed and what systems will outfit them to sustain human life in the harsh environment of deep space? NASA has a long history of space habitation studies and a validated proof of concept in the International Space Station.
